This article is written in British English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, travelled, centre, defence, artefact, analyse) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. Current
[edit]The article states "The current bishop is the Right Reverend Christopher John Hill, the 9th Bishop of Guildford". This is not strictly true since, before the Diocese was created, there were Suffragen Bishops of Guildford when it was still part of the Winchester Diocese. I have not yet been able to find out when the first suffragen bishop was created. One such bishop was George Henry Sumner(1824 - 1909), the husband of Mary Elizabeth Sumner, founder of the Mothers' Union.
